Mets vs Nationals

The MLB schedule wraps up another weekend with an exciting National League East battle on Sunday Night Baseball. Tonight’s matchup features the red hot Washington Nationals taking on the New York Mets in a matchup of two teams heading in different directions to open up the season.

On one side you have the Nationals who sit atop the National League East division with the second best record in all of baseball. Along with that the team enters tonight’s Sunday Night Showdown winners of six straight and eight of their last ten overall games.

Then on the other side you have a Mets team that many had competing for the National League East sitting in fourth place in the division with an 8-10 mark. Those struggles include the teams three game losing streak while also winning just three of their last ten overall games to drop down in the standings.

Now these two teams will take to the field in hopes of turning the tables on one another. Here is a deeper look at tonight’s 8pm ET Nationals/Mets contest at Citi Field.

Along with that early success Scherzer has dominated over his last four starts at Citi Field picking up two wins while allowing just four runs over 29.1 innings of work.

Zack Wheeler: Those same results have not shown up for Wheeler to start the season as he sits at just 1-1 on the year over three starts.
