The end to another exciting NBA Season is approaching as the 2016-17 NBA Finals tips off on Thursday Night. This years NBA Finals will look very similar to the past two years as the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors will face off for the third straight season. Over the past two NBA Finals each team has picked up a Championship with the Cavaliers storming back to win last season. For us this gives us another chance to help everyone cash in on some NBA bets with our daily free picks.

As we look at the paths for these two teams and how they got to their third straight NBA Finals they look very similar. On one side the Warriors become the first NBA team to sweep all three series in route to representing the Western Conference. Meanwhile over in the Eastern Conference the Cavaliers picked up back to back sweeps before needing just five games to knock off a very good Boston Celtics team.

Now looking at their rosters these two teams don’t look like they did during the 2015-16 NBA Finals. The big difference was the addition of Kevin Durant to an already loaded Warriors team that featured Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green. Meanwhile the Cavaliers kept their key nucleus intact that featured Kyrie Irving, LeBron James and Kevin Love.

Here are the keys to the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors opening game of the NBA Finals at the Oracle Arena in Oakland on Thursday Night.

Cleveland Cavaliers – On the Shoulder Of LeBron

For the Cavaliers this series will simply come down to whether or not LeBron James can carry the Cavaliers load. While the team still has both Irving and Love to help carry some of the load the key to Game 1 of the NBA Finals is for LeBron James to simply dominate on both sides of the floor while helping to offset the addition of Kevin Durant to an already explosive offense. Along with needing James to step up in a big way the Cavaliers will need to play aggressive on the defensive side of the floor to force the Warriors to change the style of the basketball they like to play.

Golden State Warriors Keys To The Game – Get Everyone Involved

When you have four top tier talents on one roster and one NBA floor the ability to get everyone involved could get limited. That will be the only struggle for the Warriors on Thursday Night and if they can keep all four of the stars along with their big man active it will put additional pressure on the Cavaliers including on the defensive side of the ball. Over on the defensive side of the ball the team will need to allow the Cavaliers to shoot the three while keeping put down low to not open up easy lanes for James or Irving.

Cleveland Cavaliers Betting Trends Analysis

The Cavaliers strong success in the Eastern Conference Playoffs shows up in their success against the spread as they have gone 7-2 over their last ten games. That being said the tea has been just a mediocre team on the road this season covering the spread in just 23 of the 47 games including failing to cover the spread in their January 16th meeting at the Oracle Arena. Now it hasn’t been all struggles as the Cavaliers have covered the spread in seven of their last eight road games as well as covering the spread in four of their last five NBA Finals contests.

Golden State Warriors Trends Analysis

For the Warriors their success is very similar to the Cavaliers through the playoffs covering the spread in seven of their last ten games despite seeing some big time point spread. With all that said the Warriors have covered the spread in just 23 of 45 home games this season. Along with those trends the Warriors are just 1-4 against the spread in their last five games against teams with a winning road record while also going just 1-4 in games with more than three days of rest. On a positive note the Warriors are 20-6-1 over their last 27 games and 17-5 on Thursday Night.

Head To Head Betting Trends Analysis

As for the head to head success the Warriors covered in Oakland earlier this season while neither team covered in Cleveland. That being said the Cavaliers are 4-1-1 dating back to the 2015-16 NBA Finals where they needed a dramatic comeback in the series to take home the championship. Along with those numbers these two teams have not covered the over in eight of their last 11 meetings at the Oracle Arena as well as in just four of their last six total meetings.
