The NBA Finals heated up on Friday Night as the Cleveland Cavaliers came out red hot from behind the arc. The hot shooting surprised many including the Golden State Warriors who fell behind early and couldn’t get it going against a Cavaliers team that was desperate. The red hot shooting hurt our NBA Free Pick Of The Day as we valued the idea of the Warriors coming out ready to bury the Cavaliers.

In the end that didn’t happen and now we get set for a prime time matchup on Monday Night as the NBA Finals heads to Game 5. As these two teams get set for tonight’s matchup the Cavaliers will need to take the same mind set and come out ready to shoot from behind the arc while relying on their big three to knock down some key shots.

Meanwhile over on the other side the Warriors despite dominating much of the first three games just didn’t come out with the fire to put away the Cavaliers. In the end the aggressive style of shooting from the Cavaliers to go with a much improved defense helped lead them to a key 137-116 win.

Here are the keys to the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors Game 5 showdown at the Oracle Arena in Oakland.

Cleveland Cavaliers Keys To The Game – Stay Aggressive

For the Cavaliers they have nothing to lose after trailing the series 3-0 after the first three games. That type of mindset with the fact they have come back from a 3-1 deficit to knock off the Warriors last year helped lead to a different style of play. That play included being more physical and aggressive with the Warriors shooters while turning their offensive game plan to behind the three point line. That game planned rewarded the Cavaliers in the end as they connected on 24 of their 45 three point attempts while the Warriors hit just 11.

Golden State Warriors To The Game – Pick Up On Defense

Despite dominating most of the NBA Finals the Warriors came out a little more relaxed on both sides of the floor. This type of intensity showed up as they allowed the Cavaliers offense to move the ball around while opening up the three point shot. The end result was a disappointing blowout loss for the Warriors as the Cavaliers hit 13 more three pointers. Look for the Warriors to come out aggressive while playing more one on one style defense to limit the wide open looks from the Cavaliers behind the arc.

Quick Overview Of Game 5

Game 4 was one of those games we tossed around before making our NBA Free Pick of the Day. While we expected to see a ton of points helping us to go with the over 227.5 we just didn’t see the Cavaliers coming out and putting on the show they did from the three point land. Now as we look to tonight’s key Game 5 matchup we still expect to see both teams scoring making it rain.  Look for the game to go over.
