The NBA Season slows down tonight with a very light three game slate taking place on the hardwood. At the front of that action features the reigning NBA Champions the Golden State Warriors traveling to Chicago to take on the Bulls. That being said the game we are turning our close attention to features the Oklahoma City Thunder traveling to Portland to take on the Trailblazers.

While this game features only one team with a winning record it does however include a few of the games top stars. On one side you have Russell Westbrook who continues to dominate night in and night out as he managed to post his 30th Triple Double of the year on Tuesday Night against a very good Utah Jazz team.

Meanwhile for the Trailblazers, they are led by two of the games bright stars despite the fact they have not produced a winning record this season. Those players are point guard Damian Lillard and shooting guard C.J. McCollum who are both averaging over 23 points a game this season.

Here are the Keys to the Oklahoma City Thunder and Portland Trailblazers tonight.

Oklahoma City Thunder To The Game – Win The Glass

Despite a losing record tonight’s matchup for the Thunder against the Trailblazers won’t be no easy task as they look to shut down to solid scorers. That being said the Thunder need to win the glass in order to pick up the win tonight. Entering tonight’s contest the Trailblazers managed to out rebound their opponent in each of their last two wins.

Portland Trailblazers Keys To The Game – Double/Triple Team Westbrook

While it sounds crazy thinking about trying to double and even triple team one single player on an NBA Court. The reality side is for the Trailblazers tonight they will need to do everything in their power to shut down Westbrook who is averaging a Triple Double this season. In a previous meeting this season, Westbrook failed to record a Triple Double in the Thunders 105-99 win but did put up 42 points against the Trailblazers.

Oklahoma City Thunder Betting Trends Analysis

Sitting as one of the top teams in the Western Conference looks great in the standings (35-25) as well as their record against the spread (34-25). That being said the Thunder are a difficult team to bet on the road this season as they are just 13-16 against the spread away from the Chesapeake Energy Arena. Over their last six games against the Western Conference the Thunder have posted a solid 5-1 record against the spread while also taking care of business against teams with a losing record going 19-7.

Portland Trailblazers Betting Trends Analysis

As the Trailblazers continue to struggle to put wins up on a night to night basis their record against the spread (23-36) has also struggled. This includes the team posting just a 12-15 record against the spread at home while going 14-13 overall at home. When you are struggling to win games including going just 3-7 over their last ten overall games your record against the spread would struggle as well. Those struggles include going just 1-8 against the spread over their last nine as well as failing to cover the spread in four straight games against teams in the Western Conference.

Head To Head Betting Trends Analysis

One thing is for sure and that the fireworks should be going off in tonight’s Thunder/Trailblazers contest as both teams can put points on the board. As far as their head to head trends the home team has controlled the series going 6-1 against the spread. That being said the Thunder are 6-2 over their last eight games against this same Trailblazers team.
