The MLB Schedule takes center stage tonight with a 14 game slate on tap for fans to take advantage of. This also gives us a good chance to find a game that we really like as our MLB Free Pick of the Day. For us tonight’s slate features some interesting matchups with only a few solid pitching matchups.

One of the contests we really like tonight features the Houston Astros hosting the Los Angeles Angels in an AL West showdown with the hometown team looking to pick up another win. In the end our MLB Free Pick of the Day features the Cleveland Indians hosting the Chicago White Sox.

For us this is one of the only sure matchups we really like based on starting pitching with us giving the nod to the Indians. The Indians will send out Corey Kluber who has been solid for most of the 2017 MLB Season while the White Sox has had their hands full with right handed pitching.

Here is a deeper look at tonight’s White Sox and Indians contest at Progressive Field in Cleveland.

Chicago White Sox – Find A Way To Hit Right Handed Pitching

Entering tonight’s contest against the Indians and Kluber the White Sox hitters are hitting just .239 with 371 strikeouts. The struggles don’t stop their as their team on base percentage sits below the .300 mark while their .684 OPS is one of the lowest in baseball against right handed pitching.

Cleveland Indians – Stay Patient, Make Miguel Gonzalez Work

For the Indians tonight the chance to put up some runs will be there as Gonzalez has struggled at times this season allowing five runs or more in five of his last seven starts. Tonight the team will need to make him work as they wait for their pitch as he has showed the tendency over his career to walk batters.

Chicago White Sox @ Cleveland Indians (-1.5)

Over/Under 8.5

Friday June 9th, 2017

The trends tend to point both directions in this matchup as the White Sox hold a solid 31-27 mark against the run line while the Indians are just 7-19 at Progressive Field this season. With all that said the pitching trends point to the Indians, as the White Sox have not won in five straight road games Gonzalez. Meanwhile the Indians are 20-6 over Klubers last 26 total starts while going 17-5 in games he starts on Friday Night.
